PRAYING, PRAISING & PLANKING CHALLENGE!

If you’ve been in the fitness world at all, I’m sure you have heard of the many benefits of planking! In fact, when done properly, (see “Focus on Form” below) planks are one of the BEST WAYS to build strength and stability in your core. Planks, because they work your ENTIRE core, will help you naturally stand up straighter, so you’ll begin to see an improvement in posture. Improved posture, leads to reduced back pain! Last, but certainly not least, the strengthening and stability you receive in your entire core trains your body to act as a unit, giving you better coordination and balance. Add up all those benefits and that’s a lot to receive out of just a few seconds of exercise! Planks are also super-convenient!  You can do them while your favorite TV show is on commercial break or first thing in the morning before heading out to begin your day! So, what’s not to like?

This challenge is so great because we’ve added something that ALL women love…MULTI-TASKING!  This challenge is a “three-fer!”  Not only are you exercising, you are praying and praising at the same time!!! As you are planking and resting in between planks, you simply add in your prayer and praise time.  The calendar day is separated into prayer and praise days for FAMILY-FRIENDS-CHURCH-THE LOST-THE NATION. You simply pray for the one noted for that particular calendar day and then take time to praise God during your final planking time.  Of course, these prayers and praises will need to be “popcorn-style,” as time is very limited.  It’s all so simple and yet very habit-forming.  (It also makes those 5 planks go by faster:)  Wouldn’t it be great to start your day with a “three-fer?”  You get to check THREE THINGS off your to-do-list right away! You’ve exercised, prayed, and praised the Lord! Can’t beat that for a great start to ANY day! So, sign up today for the Fit for GOD Praying, Praising & Planking Challenge!

STEPS FOR THE CHALLENGE
1. SIGN UP by clicking the logo at right. (If you haven’t already done so.) Signing up automatically enters you for the drawing at the end of the challenge.
2.
DOWNLOAD a copy of the PRAYING, PRAISING & PLANKING CHALLENGE CALENDAR.

3.
REVIEW the Focus on Form, Variation, and Modification information below.
4. BEGIN praying, praising, and planking. You will do FIVE Planks in the time-frame noted.
i.e., 5, 20-second planks (with a 10-second rest between each plank) for five days, 5, 30-second planks for five days, etc. You can even pray and praise during your rest period! (See note on calendar regarding direction for your prayer and praise time.)
5. CONSIDER
getting a praying/praising/planking/buddy. It will keep you accountable, provide a prayer/praise/planking partner AND make it more fun!!! (You don’t even have to live in the same location to make this happen! Get your kids and/or hubby involved!)

NOTE TO Fit for GOD CLASS PARTICIPANTS:
These planks are in addition to those you are already doing in your Fit for GOD Classes!  (Yes, I KNEW you were going to ask me that:) You WILL be getting a week off, however, when we break for the Christmas holidays, December 25th through January 1st! So, these planks will keep you in great shape during that break!

NOTE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS:
You will automatically be entered for a prize once you complete your planking challenge. Drawing will be held on January 2nd. You do not need to be present to win.
Retain a copy of your checked off calendar, as it is your “ticket” for the drawing. You will receive instructions by email regarding the drawing process.
